Maysene Agric works towards landfill waste diversion by collecting sorted organic waste from various businesses such as shopping centres, hospitals, casinos, factories, and farms. The collected waste is then mixed to create a mixture that is consumed by black soldier fly larvae (BSF).

These larvae convert the waste into valuable products such as Black Soldier Fly Larvae protein, Black Soldier Fly Larvae Powder, Black Soldier Fly Larvae Organic Frass Fertiliser, and Fermented Digestate liquid Fertiliser, along with renewable energy and biogas.

Black Soldier Fly Larvae are a sustainable substitute for animal protein that can be used regardless of drought or weather conditions. They are highly efficient, requiring only a fraction of the land and water usage compared to traditional animal feeds.

By incorporating Black Soldier Fly Larvae into animal feed, fish, poultry, ruminants and horses can benefit from a more nutritionally complex diet, which can lead to similar results as soy in meat production and increased egg-laying rates in poultry production.
